Newcastle are hoping to secure the loan signing of Everton left back Brendan Galloway, according to the Evening Chronicle. The Magpies only have one senior left back Paul Dummett who is fit at the moment, with Massadio Haidara currently sidelined, and manager Rafa Benitez is looking to bring in more cover on loan in the position.

Due to an injury to Leighton Baines last season, Galloway found himself first choice left back for a large part of the 2015/16 Premier League campaign under manager Roberto Martinez, making 19 appearances in all competitions.

Galloway was signed from MK Dons two years ago and has gone on to make a good impression during his first team appearances for Everton but the 20 year old is believed to be further down the pecking order under new boss Ronald Koeman and the Toffees are prepared to loan him out, with Newcastle looking to be the front runners for his signature.
