Newcastle United want to offload midfielder Gael Bigirimana before the end of the transfer window, according to the Evening Chronicle. The 22 year old’s name was mentioned alongside other expected departures in Siem De Jong, Henri Saivet, Yoan Gouffran, Sammy Ameobi and Haris Vuckic in Lee Ryder’s article.

Bigirimana was signed from Coventry City for under £1million back in 2012 and although he made over 20 appearances in his first season at the club back in 2012/13, he failed to make the breakthrough to become a first team regular at the club.

Following a short loan spell at Rangers two years ago, he returned to Coventry on loan mid way through last season in November on an emergency loan deal. He then agreed to stay with the Sky Blues until the end of the season in January. He made 13 appearances in League One last campaign for Coventry, and it may be the case the central midfielder will be loaned out again this season.
