Newcastle United are trying to offload Haris Vuckic on loan, according to the Shields Gazzette. Reporting on the departure of Ivan Toney on loan to Shrewsbury, the local paper believes the Magpies want the Slovenian international to follow him out the door.

The 23 year old has been on a number of loan spells over the past four years with Cardiff City, Rotherham United, Rangers and Wigan Athletic all giving the forward a chance in their first teams.

Despite not breaking into Newcastle’s starting line up and having to train with the Magpies Under 23 side, Vuckic said last month he was hopeful of convincing manager Rafa Benitez that he deserves a chance but he admitted that he was not in the boss’s plans.

The main stumbling block for any team will be Vuckic’s wages which would rule out many Football League clubs. A loan spell abroad maybe an option but currently there aren’t any teams prepared to make an offer for the Slovenian.
