Rafa Benitez: We are open for transfer offers

|

Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez has confirmed that the club will listen to offers for players if he believes that selling would be the right decision for the club.

There has been increased speculation over two of Newcastle’s most valuable players, Georginio Wijnaldum and Moussa Sissoko, in recent days and the Magpies boss hasn’t ruled out any sales this summer. He is quoted by the Evening Chronicle as saying:

“We have to be open to offers if somebody is interested. We don’t want to sell but if somebody comes we have to make sure we do the right things for the club.”

This suggests to any potential suitors for Wijnaldum and Sissoko that the Magpies will only sell for the right price. While Sissoko’s performances at the European Championships for France have increased his valuation to £35million with clubs such as Juventus, Real Madrid and Manchester United looking at the midfielder, Wijnaldum is said to be the subject of interest from Everton with manager Ronald Koeman keen to splash the Toffees’ new found cash on the attacking midfielder. The Dutch star is said to have £27m price tag on his head.
