Newcastle forwards Yoann Gouffran and Emmanuel Riviere are expected to leave the club before the end of the transfer window, according to the Shields Gazette.

30 year old Gouffran (who has played mostly as a winger whilst in England) has been at St James’ Park since January 2013 and was a regular in the first team under Alan Pardew in his first two and a half seasons at the club. He was however sidelined last season under both Steve McClaren and Rafa Benitez making just nine appearances in all competitions, scoring no goals.

Riviere meanwhile has had a torrid time since joining from Monaco in 2014. The striker has scored just one Premier League goal in two seasons on Tyneside and made just three appearances in total last season.

With the Magpies having Aleksandar Mitrovic, Dwight Gayle, Ayoze Perez and youngster Alan Armstrong already on the club’s books, it comes as no surprise that the pair are set to be offloaded this summer.
