New Newcastle signing Isaac Hayden has revealed his excitement after completing his move from Arsenal. The 21 year old signed a five year contract yesterday on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee

The utility player can play as a holding midfielder, centre back or full back and will be an important asset as the club manage a packed fixture list next season. Talking to NUFC TV, Hayden expressed how happy he was signing for such a massive club:

“I’m buzzing. This is a massive football club and to be given the opportunity to come here and progress with my football career is massive for me. It’s huge in England and the fanbase and infrastructure is massive and I jumped at the opportunity to come here.”

Hayden never played a league game for the Gunners although he did appear in two Capital One Cup matches. He gained nearly all of his senior game experience playing for Hull City in the Championship last season as Steve Bruce’s side were promoted back to the Premier League via the play-offs. Last campaign Hayden made 24 appearances in all competitions for the Tigers, scoring one goal and making one assist, helping Hull to promotion.
