French newspaper Le 10 Sport are reporting that Marseille want Newcastle midfielder Florian Thauvin on loan for next season. Reports were suggesting that the 23 year old could depart for Lazio with his mentor Marcelo Bielsa (who he worked with previously in France) expected to takeover at the Serie A side.

Bielsa dramatically decided after just two days to resign as Lazio coach with rumours he is said to take charge of Argentina for a second time. This however leaves Thauvin in limbo, and although Sky Sport Italia believe that the transfer is still on, it depends on Antonio Candreva’s transfer to Napoli.

Marseille currently are in deep financial difficulties and would not be able to bring the player back permanently if the Lazio move falls through. The winger signed from Marseille for £15million just last summer but failed to settle and was allowed to return to the French side on loan in January. He made 16 Ligue One appearances in the second half of last season, scoring two goals.
