janmaatNewcastle United duo Daryl Janmaat and Jack Colback are amongst the hardest working players in the Premier League according to the latest stats released by EA Sports.

Every aspect of the Premier League is tracked these days, from players’ completed passes to shorts on target and interceptions made, with one of the more interesting stats being distance run.

Now a third of the way into the season, Newcastle have two players in the top ten for furthest distance run, and they’re both summer additions!

Dutch right back Daryl Janmaat was brought in from Feyenoord, while Jack Colback had a much shorter journey as the English midfielder joined from bitter rivals Sunderland.

In the EA stats, Colback, who will be back from suspension to face Chelsea on Saturday, is ninth with a distance of 93.62 miles run in just 13 games.

Janmaat is one spot ahead of Colback in eight, having played one game more and clocked up 93.68 miles.

Top of the tree is a player that Newcastle will face at St James’ Park, Cesc Fabregas, who has topped the 100 mile mark and reached 101.96.

Perhaps importantly, just behind him is Nemanja Matic at 101.22 miles, who will miss Saturday’s game through suspension.
