If you’re not on Twitter; firstly, why not? Secondly, you won’t have seen this bit of chat involving two Dutch goalkeepers, current Newcastle United number one Tim Krul and former Manchester United ‘keeper Edwin van der Sar, ahead of the Premier League clash between Newcastle and Man United at St James’ Park tomorrow afternoon.
Edwin van der Sar is something of a Holland legend and Krul will be hoping he can emulate his hero and go on to become The Netherlands man between the sticks for many years to come, starting with the 2014 World Cup in Brazil this summer.
Anyway, earlier today on Twitter Edwin wished Tim a happy 26th Birthday and Tweeted that he hoped his compatriot kept a clean sheet tomorrow.
Then he realised that Krul was up against his former club Man United and promptly rescinded his message of good luck…
If only van der Sar realised that it will be Rob Elliot in between the sticks as Tim Krul is injured and won’t even be playing!
