Loic Remy red cardQPR striker Charlie Austin wants to team up with Newcastle United’s Loic Remy, but expect it to be in London and not the north-east!

Loic Remy has been in sensational form for Newcastle this season and the Magpies would be in big trouble without him.

The Frenchman has scored 13 Premier League goals this season, making him by far and away Newcastle’s top scorer this term.

After having the blot on his record of a red card against Norwich City at Carrow Road for a headbutt, something that his manager Alan Pardew has learnt from him, Remy has bounced back with two goals in two games against Aston Villa and Hull City.

Much has been written about whether Newcastle will be able to sign him permanently in the summer of whether he’ll be too pricy, but Austin is still hoping he returns to QPR.

QPR themselves have been struggling themselves, with the highly talented squad ‘only’ occupying fourth spot in the Championship and Harry Redknapp’s men have a lot of work to do to get promoted.

You’d think that’s a minimum for Remy to return and team up with Austin who has 14 league goals to his name this season.

The 24-year-old said: “I don’t think too much about playing with Loic because he’s not with us this season but it would be exciting. He’s done really well with Newcastle but he’s still a QPR player. I met him last summer and he’s a good guy. Who knows what will happen if we do link up next season?”

You never know, maybe a partnership could be formed at Newcastle?
