Manchester City starlet to help fill Pardew’s quota

Scott SinclairNewcastle United manager Alan Pardew has talked about the lack of English players in the Magpies’ squad right now and hinted that he could make a swoop for Manchester City starlet Scott Sinclair.

Newcastle have made just one addition in the summer transfer window so far and it saw them bring in another Frenchman, with Loic Remy arriving from QPR on loan.

While Newcastle are targeting the best players that they can afford, you have to worry about the lack of Englishmen in their ranks and it isn’t a fact that has passed Pardew by.

Pardew told SportsDirectNews.com “We actually run quite a low group of English players at Newcastle and we need to strengthen that.”

One player who could do that is out of favour Man City winger Scott Sinclair, who Pards actually mentioned in the interview.

He stated: “Scott Sinclair had various loan spells in the Championship during his time as a Chelsea player and did well, then he played well in the Premier League and got a fantastic move to Manchester City.”

That hasn’t worked out though and it looks likely that the 24-year-old will leave City in this transfer window.

Sinclair has been strongly linked with a loan move to West Brom, but there are indications that the former England U21 international wants to leave Eastlands for good.

Will Newcastle make a move before it’s too late?

Starlet? How is he a starlet haha?! He’s appalling, but would suit a rubbish mid-table team such as yourselves

    • Chris says:

You lot were worse before your stupid amounts of money which is helping to ruining the league

Show some respect Macca. I’m a Blue and would never rubbish a fine club like Newcastle. At least their fans can have a laugh and a joke with visiting supporters, unlike a recent trip I made to Sunderland. They were awful.

Did you miss the press release: MCFC now rule football in Britain & most of the world. Unlucky. You missed the gravy train & now you’re condemned to a life of mediocrity at best – the glass ceiling is impenetrable for clubs like Newcastle. Submit to the superpower chaps, resistance is futile. Yes you can have Sinclair, we’ll even pay his wages for you if you like. Can’t wait to hear PE teacher Pardew’s entertaining most match musings on MOTD this coming season – “we were unlucky”, “we push them right to the hilt”, “they’ll know they’ve been in a game today” yada, yada, yawn.

Please keep trying though – you never know you might have a gallant cup run & reach a quarter final of the FA or League Cup. I love the romance of football.

or maybe lose in the final to a championship club like errrm ?? WIGAN

        • City Life says:

FYI Wigan were still a Premier League club when they contested the final, but hey don’t let the facts get in the way of a “good” story. Most people acknowledge that Wigan played good football and were capable of beating any of the top teams on their day which they’ve proved so there was no shame in losing to such a well run family club who play the game in the right way.

Hey Mr Shi..ty life… it is so obvious you are relatively new to supporting citeh you really need to remember your history you might think your cool or your club is the best in the premier league i know a man city fan who has supported the club for 50 years and he does not get carried away with your new found success he remembers when you were shyte remember money can buy players and trophys but can not buy the club and it´s history…..I am not saying do not enjoy your current situation but remember what you were before the millions..

        • City Life says:

Glen – you could not be further from the truth. In fact I was a season ticket holder when the club was on its knees at its nadir & suffered 2 relegations in 3 years.

On the one hand you say you know a City supporter of 50 years but then pretty much dismiss the club’s history on the other. If you knew anything about English football you would know that MCFC’s history is as colourful as any. City still hold lots of records going back half a century or more.

People forget that until as relatively recently as 1999, Manchester City Football Club had spent more years in England’s top flight than its neighbours outside the city in Trafford.

As for money you will find, if you refer to history which you are so keen on, that in one way or another the richest clubs have invariably been the most successful going back to the turn of the 20th century so please save your hackneyed, holier than thou diatribe on City.

Despite what you’ll read in the “axe to grind anti City media” It’s no accident that the richest man in the world (for argument’s sake) chose Manchester City. This fella has a worldwide business portfolio of assets and he wasn’t going to tarnish his reputation & goodwill he’s built up by buying any club. What he recognised is that city were a genuine sleeping giant with a huge core fan base (crowds of over 30k in division 3) and an even bigger dormant fan base in the UK and abroad. He could have chosen Newcastle, Everton, Aston Villa or Spurs but he did not, he chose Manchester City Football Club. Please exercise your demons that have infected you for almost 5 years hence and deal with it. I thank you.

One thing that concerns me is the lack of a proper english CB, no disrespects to Willo and Saylor they aint never going to cut it against the big boys id let the two of them go and put in a bid of 10-12 for Shawcross of Stoke. We keep harping on about the lack of goals we scored lst season by a country mile we had a the worst defence going we had Ba banging the goals in and then wed leak 3 or 4 down the other end every week if got Shawcross id let Colo go or keep Saylor, that defence got away with murder any other profession and ud be out the door if you preformed that bad so before we throw all our eggs into the strikers basket we need to bag a top top monster of a CB.

    • thetoonrme says:

keep Steven Taylor!!! and let Colo go(what you been taking)? The batterings we take are week in week out because of Taylor and his poor play,he only looks good as he is diving about trying to cover his bad positioning and play.

The quicker people realise he is a hindrance and sell him to a championship club the better as thats his level as well as williamsons .

If we dont stregnthen at centre back and Colo gets an injury were back to conceding three a game minimum

  • waine c says:

Exactly, man city were rubbish before the arabs came in,who the hell do man city fans think they are ?

  • thetoonrme says:

People like Macca cannot remember “before the arabs” when they were just a mickey mouse outfit like wolves or coventry, infact the only thing they have done that we have not is played in the third tier of english football and that wasnt long ago either .

Clubs dont matter as we are all football fans , whichever club you selotape your arse to does not matter .

Lets face it im a 48 yr old bloke thats prob been to man city more times than Macca

  • david says:

Macca. Man city are in my opinion the worst club in English football. They live in the shadows of Manchester united a club that was built with a great manager and consistently developed average players into world class legends. City buy world class players and develop them into average players. If Sinclair went to toon I think he would become a great player again. Newcastle really seem to care about the well being of each individual at their club. Offer to loan with option to buy. City won’t care.

  • Stretford Blue. says:

City fans are all to aware of where we were just a few short years ago which is why we’re so grateful to have some success now. Try sharing a city with a team that are winning everything in sight and rubbing your noses in it every day. Not easy. Didn’t stop us supporting our team though. Never has and never would. I was always proud to be Blue no matter what division we were in at the time. Pick your team and stick with them no matter what.

    • AndyNUFC1892 says:

NUFC fan, but well said! Enjoy it Stretford Blue

    • glen says:

now you are what i would call a football fan …ok could you please spread the word to the many who seem to be getting a bit carried away with things …the likes of you are welcome to newcastle but the rest just cause fights when they open their mouths..

  • M19 Blue says:

David “worst club in English football” a bit harsh pal!

Which manager are you referring to that made the Rags great? and which average players do you mean? Because as far as I see it United have paid the highest transfer fees and the highest salaries for decades….Or are you a Sky sports footy fan who has a blinkered and utterley bias memory?

I have quite a few NUFC fans as mates and ,if you are a geordie, I pray you don’t meet them as they despise “fans” like yourself who even though they would love the kind of investment we have had constantly slag us off because we have the chance to be successful. No doubt you’ll make some dodgy reply like “I wouldn’t want this kind of owner” well if you do your a liar mate.

  • leenufc says:

bet knacca oops sorry ‘macca’ got loads of mates ..sounds a nice kid doesn’t he

  • Jamesnufc says:

We’re having to work with what we’ve got, not a lot of transfer budget and an arse of an owner. Every season the manager tries to do the best he can with what he gets given to him!

  • DanNufc9 says:

‘Macca’ your probably nothing bit a glory supporter, have a word with yourself mate. NUFC born and bread and I love my Club. Doesn’t mean i don’t respect other clubs throughout England. About time you showed some respect yourself.
