Chelsea striker Demba Ba’s return to Newcastle United might not have gone that well on Saturday, as the Blues lost 3-2 at St James’ Park and the Senegal international was left with a broken nose after the Premier League encounter, but he still regards a Magpie as the best player he’s played with.

Demba Ba was a good servant for Newcastle and while many fans were not happy with his departure and as a result booed him at the weekend, I don’t think we should forget about the number of goals he scored for the club.

One player who is still friends with Ba, despite him leaving the club, is France international midfielder Yohan Cabaye.

Before the match on Saturday, Cabaye said: “He’s my close friend, and I’m happy to meet him in Newcastle. He’s a fantastic person. But I’m playing for Newcastle and fighting for Newcastle. He’s playing for Chelsea. During the 90 minutes he is going to be my opposite.”

Cabaye also stated that: “At the end we are going to have a dinner together. A game is a game. I want the three points, and he wants the three points as well.”

Given that Ba would have been in a bit of pain I’m not sure if the duo would have met for dinner, but the respect between the two is clearly mutual as the following video shows.
