Newcastle target Ola ToivonenPSV Eindhoven striker Ola Toivonen feels that he is being priced out of a move by the Eredivisie club, with Premier League duo Newcastle United and Sunderland both unwilling to pay the £11 million price-tag that has been put on his head.

North-east duo Newcastle and Sunderland both made advances in the transfer market today, as the Magpies brought in Vurnon Anita from Ajax and the Black Cats signed Louis Saha, but are looking to bring in more bodies this summer and see a, further in Sunderland’s case, striker as a key addition.

However, PSV value their Swedish striker at 14 million Euros, which is about £11m; more than Newcastle paid for Papiss Cisse in January, but in line with Wolves’ valuation of Steven Fletcher – another Sunderland striking target.

Toivonen, though, clearly isn’t happy as the 26-year-old forward told Fotbollskanalen: “PSV’s asking price is a bit unreasonable in my opinion.”

“Of course, I would like to make the next step in my career. I have always been honest about that. I am keeping my options open.”

It is unlikely either Newcastle or Sunderland would pay more than £10m for Toivonen, with better value to be found elsewhere in the market.

Andy C will be signed. £15 will see a done deal.

Good player with a good goal record. Newcastle got Cisse for a song so can’t really compare price tags but I’d agree with the lad that it does seem abit high.
Don’t see him at Newcastle, though I wouldn’t be disappointed if he was.
You expect Sunderland of the two clubs tho with Larrson being there aswell.
But then the lad said he wanted to progress his career so maybe not … 
