Papiss Cisse vs StokeAs Newcastle dismantled Stoke City 3-0 yesterday, there will be one piece of Newcastle United news that won’t surprise you: Papiss Cisse found the back of the net again!

Papiss Cisse has now scored in six consecutive Premier League matches, netting nine times in that period and having scored 11 in 10 in total.

Cisse really has taken to English football like a duck to water, but this shouldn’t really be a surprise considering the Senegal striker’s record in the Bundesliga with Freiburg.

The fact of the matter is that every time Cisse finds himself in front of goal you expect the ball to find the back of the net, as his shots on target percentage is just so good.

Against Stoke on Saturday Papiss could have easily had his first hat-trick in domestic football had a couple of things gone his way.

For Yohan Cabaye’s opener, Cisse peeled off Robert Huth at the back post to meet Hatem Ben Arfa’s cross and was slightly unlucky to see his header hit the crossbar.

In the second half he had a goal ruled out for offside, which was very tight as he pounced on the rebound from his compatriot Demba Ba’s shot on goal.

When Cisse did register his name on the scoresheet his movement was exceptional and if Cabaye and co. can continue to give him that service this season then Papiss is sure to score a few more.

Cisse has found life in the Premier League so straightforward so far, that on Twitter @danwhite_nufc has created a t-shirt with the design #takingthepapiss which you can see below…
