Image for PICTURE: Arsenal goalkeeper Szczesny shows his allegiance to Krul

The fall-out from Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium last night rumbled on today, as the clash between the two Dutchmen, Arsenal striker Robin van Persie and Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul, was picked over.

Unsurprisingly Arsenal fans are backing their striker, saying that Krul was time wasting throughout the match, while Newcastle supporters feel that van Persie didn’t behave well at all, subscribing to the view that there can be such a thing as a bad winner.

[ad_pod id=’unruly-video’ align=’right’]

I don’t believe there was any bad blood between Robin and Tim before the match and all I can think is that The Netherlands national football team wanted to get their usual tournament argument over before Euro 2012 even begins!

Obviously we don’t know what was said between the two, but as a 28-year-old captain of Arsenal who has represented his national team 62 times, you’d have thought that van Persie would know better, but then the emotion of football gets to everyone during the 90 minutes.

There’s been plenty of chat about the subject on Twitter, all of which isn’t really getting anyone anywhere, other than a few people ranting and letting off a bit of steam. However, I did come across this little gem…

@HassanMBD has been on Twitter (and Photoshop one suspects) and come up with this picture of Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny showing his allegiance to Tim Krul through a picture of the Dutch ‘keeper on his bedroom wall.

Nice to see the goalkeepers’ union is one that cannot be broken. I for one am looking forward to Robin van Persie’s trip to St James’ Park next season, whether that be for Arsenal or with the Dutchman wearing a Manchester City shirt.

Newcastle’s big problem was TIME WASTING..to the point that it COST NEWCASTLE THE GAME. Dont blame van Persie, even the crowd got fed up with time wasters. Words were exchanged, and it’s not that Krul was silent. But Krul was stupid and childish enough to run up to van persie to start a fight! Accept it and get over it, or else it only shows newcastle are sore losers!

Not complaining about the result, just think RVP could have acted with more dignity.

  • fair play says:

Newcastle shud look at you own history of violence. Period.

  • fair play says:

This fake pic amounts to telling a lie. Bl**dy liar who put this up.

ic who rattled your cage?it was “handbags at dawn stuff”ffs!comical if you ask me!

  • timao says:

krul was probably just annoyed that no-one from arsenal had been sent off for no reason and newcastle hadn’t been given any free penalties. you can’t blame him for letting off steam but he should have directed at the ref who deserved it for doing such an inexplicably good job of officiating fairly at an arsenal game. he should be sent down to the championship for that.

  • GunnerX says:

What a joke, clearly its a Photoshop rehash of Carl Jenkinson’s bedroom. Why the fuck would Szczesny have a picture of Krul in his bedroom. N’castle are sore losers, their plan backfired and they left with Zilch, which is more than they deserved.

  • Mike says:

Krul got his just desserts once we took the lead and reacted very childishly once RVP pointed it out to him. I’m pressuming the Newcastle fans who are complaining about RVP will obviously welcome our keeper wasting vast amounts of time for virtually the game next season. The difference is we won’t be wasting time playing for a draw, we expect more from a team like ours.

This is all rather childish and not worth commenting on. Newcastle did what they though would get them a point and it didn’t work… just. they are not the first team to ‘put up the shutters’. I think if they had a ‘went for it’ they would have caused a few problems. on the other hand it may have played into arsenals hands. it looked like krul ‘took the initiative’ at the end, no doubt ‘wound up’ by VP. I’ve worked in Holland and found them to be a temperamental lot. This is mild compared to the newcastle sunderland game. Anyone disagree with these comments. (Arsenal fan)..

    St. James Says.

Nice one. Top man. When i was up north the people were great. Just a bit of passion and banter. Krul was playing for a draw and it angered our captain. He let krul know how he felt after the thomas scored. end of. C’mon, to those who are lambasting van persie, even your own manager said krul took long on one or two kicks and he was sugar coating. I was there and krul was taking the mick. Moving the ball from left corner to right corner to the point i could see that his favorite side was any side it took longer to get to…smh. Hope you get europe anyway cause of the good times i left up there. What happens in castle stays in castle 😉

  • Mr Krul says:

RVP will not be wearing an arsenal shirt when he next comes to SJP. Apart from said player, arsenal don’t have the team to compete at the top and you as arsenal fans know that. Unless you sign 3/4 top top top players then you simply won’t be able to compete. he’ll be 29 next year, leaving him with prob 2 years at the top of his game, thats not even taking into account his awful injury record. Now is his chance to move to one of the big teams, (especially on the back of such an awesome season). He may not get this chance again and he is certain to take it. In 5 months time, looking at RVP will make you gooners sick.

      zzzzzz…

Let’s wait and see what happens rather than speculating vindictively after a disappointing result for what I assume is your team ‘Mr Krul’.

That or there are some incredible coincidences going on here.

Let’s see what happens in the summer.

  • Jay gooner says:

Yep it’s a photoshop, that’s Carl jenkinsons, our backup RB , bedroom. There was a thing on the arsenal site a few months ago about it. He has been an arsenal fan his whole life. As for the incident it’s over. It happened, both were booked. Arsenal fans will blame krul and Newcastle fans will blame RVP but it will have absolutely no barring on the rest of the season for either team.

    Newcastle Mugs!

    You are irrelvant!
    You have won nothing decades!
You havent seen Champions League Football for more than a decade.
Krul is a cheating piece of scum that got what he deserved.
Arsenal are far bigger, far better and far classier.
    Sunderland now OWN YOU!!!

    • Mr Krul says:

thats confusing, last time I checked we had 7 points on our biggest rivals, and we haven’t been beaten by them for countless years. You on the other hand have spent most of the season playing catch up to yours. Stupid little twat

    • Tom Jones says:

      Hmm, insightful comment

    • southern toon says:

I PERSONALY THINK YOUR WELL OUT OF ORDER
HOW DOES IT GO SAME OLD ARSENAL ALWAYS CHEATING
      NO SMOKE WITH OUT FIRE

  • rizal says:

Why do they photoshop with Krul, it would be funnier if SW is an admirer Sepp Blater.

As for the Krul RVP feud, this is the FACT
1)Krul time wasting, admit by PArdew
    2)RVP don’t like it
3)they have a go at each other & that is their prob.

If you say in the end of game RVP was wrong then Krul is more wrong because he is the reason of fued and he is the one who run 30+ yard to confront RVP in the end.

This is minor issues by those 2 people no real basis for us Arsenal or Newcastle fans to have a go with each other.

  • Goonerman says:

I WONDER HOW MANY MINUTES OUT OF 90 KRUL HAD POSSESSION OF THE BALL? 10 MINUTES? WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE WATCHING A GAME NOT KRUL BOUNCING / KICKING LONG BALLS.

ANOTHER ISSUE: ARE NEWCASTLE THE NEXT WIMBLEDON? KRUL LONG BALLS REMIND OF WIMBLEDON. YUK.
