Newcastle United are casting their net far and wide this summer and the latest man to be linked with a move to the Magpies is Real Madrid starlet Alvaro Morata.

According to TribalFootball.com Morata is far from happy at Madrid, having been overlooked by Jose Mourinho, and would like to move on in the summer in search of first team football.

The Spanish U19 international has scored 11 times for his country at that age group, but currently finds himself in exile at Real Madrid B.

Despite being overlooked by current manager Mourinho, Morata is still one of the brightest prospects at the Bernabeu and the most likely move to Tyneside would be a temporary one on loan.

Newcastle will be wary of signing young striker from Spain, with the most recent flop Xisco still in exile, so a loan move would suit all parties.

Alan Pardew would like to have first option on the 19-year-old if he was to become available in a couple of months’ time.

Morata has a European U19 Football Championship winners’ medal to his name already, as his clinical finishing stole the show in Romania last summer, helping him net on six occasions, including a hat-trick, and get the golden boot.

The one thing to note about Morata is his size, as at 6ft 2in the youngster is a large present up front and understandably highly effective in the air, drawing comparisons to Fernando Morientes.

Morata was strongly linked with a move to Arsenal in January, but the Spaniard was keen to stay in his home country, which could put paid to a link to Newcastle in the summer.
