Georginio WijnaldumNewcastle United are today being linked with a second PSV player according to the Daily Star. Alan Pardew has been a long-time admirer of Holland international left back Erik Pieters and now Dutch midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum is also thought to be on the Magpies’ radar.

Georginio Wijnaldum is one of the hottest talents in The Netherlands right now. The 21-year-old has featured twice for his national team, netting on his debut last year and is a creative force for his current team PSV.

As a youngster, Wijnaldum made his name for Feyenoord, where he spent the latter part of his youth career and the first four years of his professional career. Playing over 100 league matches, Wijnaldum had a strike rate of one in five, something he’s improved upon since his move to PSV.

Wijnaldum joined PSV in the summer for 5 million Euros. He quickly became a creative force in an advanced position in the middle park and has scored seven goals in the Eredivisie this season in just 17 appearances.

Unsurprisingly Wijnaldum’s value has dramatically increased this season and is not thought to be valued in the region of £8m. Alongside Pieters that would represent a significant outlay for Newcastle in the summer if Pardew was to go double Dutch.

Take a look at this video tribute to Georginio Wijnaldum below, which shows how skilful a player the 21-year-old Dutchman is, as well as the fact that he has a serious shot on him…
