It’s the January transfer window so welcome to the silly season. A month where you get linked with every player under the sun, or in Newcastle’s case, every footballer that plays in France!
Alan Pardew has made no secret that he’s looking for a centre back to cover for the injured Steven Taylor, but he’s ruled out bringing in a striker, although I think he said that just to try and keep our aspirations for this window in check.
So Newcastle are looking to bring in one player, two at most, yet the Magpies have been linked with dozens of players in the past two weeks and we’re not even half-way through the window.
I’ve decided to put together a Newcastle transfer rumour XI, a team that consists purely of players that the Magpies have been linked with signing this month and consists of some familiar and not so familiar faces.
