With Leicester City making the controversial decision to sack Claudio Ranieri just 9 months after he led them to the most unlikely Premier League title win of all time, Alan Pardew has emerged as one of the names who could replace him.
According to the Daily Mirror, the former Toon chief is just 6/1 to step into the breach at the King Power Stadium as the Foxes battle relegation, having recently been sacked by Crystal Palace. ‘Pardiola’ has experience in battling for top-flight survival, though would barely be the most inspiring choice in the east Midlands.
The idea of him managing the champions of England is an odd notion for Newcastle United fans, who had to endure his bizarre approach to coaching for a number of years before moving back to south London in January 2015. With that in mind, the fact he’s on the bookies’ list to replace Ranieri has caused a storm on Twitter.
Here’s how Newcastle fans reacted to Pardew’s Leicester link.
On a positive note carver and pardew are both available #nufc #lcfc
