Once again, these are rather nervy times on Tyneside amid all the speculation surrounding Rafa Benitez’s long-term future at Newcastle United.

Having not seen anyone arrive over the course of the January transfer market, top brass with the Magpies look to have rocked the boat somewhat for the Spaniard and the notion of him leading the club forward beyond the end of this campaign looks like a doubtful one right now.

So, it’d be easy for us all sit to here and get depressed about that, so it’s time for us to cheer up a bit. Yesterday, it was revealed that promising Spanish forward Victor Fernandez had signed professional terms with the Toon Army, an exciting talent for the future.

He’s the second arrival of this ilk to touch down in the North East, following compatriot Juanito, and his former side UE Cornella have posted a video on Twitter showcasing his talents, bagging a brace against Barcelona of all people.

Anything to take our mind off it, we suppose.
