As confirmed on their official website, UE Cornella have announced their midfielder Victor Fernandez has joined Newcastle United on professional terms.
Photos of the 18-year-old penning a deal have been doing the rounds on Twitter of late, though there is yet to be a statement from the Toon Army themselves, so the Spaniards’ statement is the first official line in regards to the move.

A talented forward, he had been with the second division side for three years and follows countryman Juanito to Tyneside, as the Magpies look to strengthen their developmental ranks under Rafa Benitez. In years gone by, Ayoze Perez has proved to be a success, as he was plucked from relative obscurity when playing for Tenerife.
It’s thought he will link up with Peter Beardsley’s U23 side, a few of which have made first-team appearances this term, as he begins his development on these shores in black and white.
