Rather interestingly, Newcastle United have recently been linked with a surprising move to bring Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend back to the club, just six months after he left for the Eagles.
The 25-year-old proved a hugely popular player on Tyneside during his short stint in black and white and would represent a major coup for a side in the Championship, despite his struggles in south London since swapping St. James’ for Selhurst Park.
Exactly how’d be received should he return remains to be seen, having left so soon after relegation, though it’s not as if his was a particularly sour exit akin to either Georginio Wijnaldum’s or Moussa Sissoko’s.
Amid the reports, the former Tottenham Hotspur winger may have just dropped a hint he could return to the second-tier leaders by ‘liking’ a tweet on his official Twitter account asking whether or not fans on social media would bring him back.
Well he likes the idea… pic.twitter.com/4bnlmK4xlp
