Though Newcastle United winger Florian Thauvin is believed to have joined Marseille on a loan deal that included an obligation to buy, there have been interesting reports emanating out of France

Despite struggling to wholly convince during his ill-fated season on Tyneside, the Frenchman seems to have done enough upon his return to Ligue 1 to impress another potential suitor, with Mercato 365 suggesting Inter Milan are increasingly keen on him.

The Nerazzuri are said to have scouted the 23-year-old in action against Lyon after his five-goal and three-assist form at the Stade Velodrome. Just how this deal would play out is uncertain, though perhaps the deal to take him to Les Phocéens could be made permanent before a quick-fire switch to the San Siro.

He made just 16 appearances for the Magpies before returning to France in January 2016 and surely has to be one of the worst signings in recent memory. Clearly a talented player, the sort of performance he turned out on his debut against Northampton seems so long ago now.
