Newcastle United are among a number of clubs said to be interested in making a move for Ludogorets winger Jonathan Cafu, according to a recent report from Goal

The Brazilian forward has played Champions League football for the Bulgarian giants, particularly impressing despite his team’s loss to Arsenal in the group stage. This season, the 25-year-old has eleven goals and seven assists to his name and his current charges are understood to want around €12m for him.

That figure roughly equates to around £10.3m, though Orlite are said to be willing to drop their asking price to around €8m (roughly £6.9m) to find a buyer for the forward. Fellow second-tier side Aston Villa have also recently been linked with a move for him, while the report suggests Premier League champions Leicester City are also keen.

He’d certainly provide some creativity to the ranks at St. James’ Park, something that has proved a problem of late.

Rafa Benitez is not currently blessed with a wealth of options in wide areas, with only Matt Ritchie and Yoan Gouffran available as things stand. Rolando Aarons is a long-term injury on Tyneside, while there have been question marks over the future of on-loan winger Christian Atsu.
