Newcastle United are keen to take Swansea City winger Modou Barrow on loan this month as Rafa Benitez ramps up attempts to secure attacking additions this month, report the Chronicle.
It’s largely been a frustrating month for the Magpies thus far, having yet been unable to bring anyone in despite strong links with a move for Andros Townsend. While the report does address that particular story, they claim Crystal Palace are playing hard-ball over the deal.
With that in mind, they are believed to have made contact with the Swans over a potential loan move for the Gambian, though could reportedly face competition from Aston Villa.
Noted for his searing pace, the 24-year-old has Championship experience following short stints with the likes of Blackburn Rovers and Nottingham Forest during his career thus far. He is also thought to have a £5m release clause, though the Toon are believed to be awaiting a reply from Paul Clement’s side.
