Crystal Palace made it a very Merry Christmas for Newcastle United fans as they took the decision to sack Alan Pardew just days before the happiest time of year.

The former Toon coach was hailed as the Eagles’ saviour upon his return to south London back in January 2015, though the wheels have come off in the calendar year of 2016.

Despite being handed huge funds by chairman Steve Parish, including signing former Magpies favourite Yohan Cabaye and then landing Andros Townsend from us, ‘Pardiola’ has failed to wholly convince.

During his tenure at St. James’ Park, the 55-year-old was often on the receiving end of criticism, though many outside of Tyneside believed that was unfair considering the regime he worked under.

Still, his struggles at a club he was hailed as a saviour are a further indicator that Newcastle fans were right in regards to Pardew.

As you can imagine, the reaction from Toon fans has been rather entertaining.
