According to the Chronicle, Newcastle United will not rush into making any moves to replace dear departed first-team coach Ian Cathro.

The 30-year-old has moved up to Scotland to take over at SPFL side Heart of Midlothian to link up with his mentor, Craig Levein, who is director of football at Tynecastle.

Brought in to the club by Steve McClaren, the former Valencia coach’s main role reportedly was to put on training sessions at the club’s Benton base.

While those behind the scenes at St. James’ Park are understood to be eager to replace Cathro, they will not rush into a decision.

Rather than replace him for the sake of it, Benitez is believed to want to wait to find the right individual who can fit seamlessly into his setup.

The Spaniard’s rebuild on Tyneside has many layers and it’ll be interesting to see just who he brings in to help his cause in black and white.
