Sadly, on today of all days, news broke from within Newcastle United in regards to the desperately unlucky Rolando Aarons.
It’s been confirmed by the club that the 21-year-old has suffered a devastating ACL injury in training, an injury likely to rule him out for some time.
Once again, the rug has been pulled out beneath his feet as he tries to find the run of games so desperately required to truly capitalise on the sort of potential he’s shown ever so fleetingly during his short but sad career.
As much of an outpouring of support as there has been for the winger, many Toon fans on Twitter have barely been surprised by recent events.
It seems every time Aarons is ready to show us what he really can do, injuries show their ugly face and stop him in his tracks.
