Though nothing can be taken for granted in the Championship, it seems as if Rafa Benitez’s rebuild at Newcastle United already has one eye on life back in the Premier League.
Five points clear at the top of the league, it would surely take something special – even by the Toon’s standards – to mess this up as the ‘Rafalution’ gathers pace.
According to reports in the Chronicle, the club are already eyeing a move for a top flight forward should they reach the proverbial Promised Land at the first time of asking.
Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson is understood to be of interest to those at St. James’ Park, fitting the mould of a talented British talent with his best years ahead.
The 24-year-old has suffered injuries during his time with the Cherries, but remains a wonderfully lethal striker and would be a huge signing for Newcastle United should it come off.
With that in mind, here’s how Twitter reacted to the Wilson natter.
