Though he’s not currently involved in the first-team setup, Newcastle United ‘stopper Tim Krul has reminded fans of his connection with the club.

Such are the feelings of optimism on Tyneside right now, even the absence of a Magpies stalwart following their relegation last season is making little difference.

With the likes of Karl Darlow, Rob Elliot and summer signing Matz Sels all vying for a starting berth between the posts, the Dutchman was farmed out on loan to Eredivisie giants Ajax.

Rather unexpectedly, the Oranje star was first handed a new deal at St. James’ Park before traveling to his homeland in order to aid his recovery from injury in the Dutch capital.

However, the 28-year-old has reminded us all of his roots with the Magpies by posting on Twitter, taking a trip down memory lane.

He posted a clip of his debut against Palermo in the UEFA Cup a DECADE ago and hinted he’s looking forward to many more years to come in black and white.
