Newcastle United could be faced with a difficult decision when the January transfer window rolls around, according to the Northern Echo

The form of winger Yoan Gouffran is reportedly attracting the interest of French side Lille, who are thought to be closely monitoring his situation on Tyneside.

Largely written off before the start of the Championship campaign, the Frenchman has been one of the major success stories at St. James’ Park amid the revolution conducted by Rafa Benitez.

Previously outcast by both Alan Pardew and Steve McClaren, the 30-year-old is yet to be on the losing side in black and white this season, starting 12 of the last 13 games.

Still, he is out of contract at the end of the season and any interest from Les Dogues is likely to be taken seriously.

The Ligue 1 outfit are understood to be ready to offer the former Bordeaux man a two-year deal to return to his homeland, having left for the Magpies back in January 2013.
