Newcastle captain Jamaal Lascelles has bee speaking about the contrasting style of the Magpies’ next opponents. Newcastle face bottom of the table Rotherham tomorrow afternoon and Lascelles told the Evening Chronicle that he is expecting a very different challenge to their last match against Norwich City.

Alans Stubbs’s side will be far more direct according to the Newcastle defender:

“Saturday will be a different challenge, probably more of a direct, physical game. Norwich was more of a technical and tactical game with the ball on the floor. It will be a tough place to go, Rotherham away. They’ve got some big boys so our preparation in training may be a little different.”

Rotherham have struggled since Stubbs arrived from Hibernian in the summer. Although the English manager did lift the Scottish Cup last season at Hibs, beating Rangers in the final, he is finding out how difficult the Championship is.

His only win so far was against Brentford in a 1-0 win back in August and they have failed to concede less than two goals in all their other matches this season including a stunning 5-4 loss to Morecambe in the EFL Cup . After the 4-3 win over Norwich then, Newcastle should expect to score even more goals tomorrow.
