Newcastle are yet to receive any bids for goalkeeper Tim Krul, according to the Evening Chronicle. The Dutch international is currently recovering from a knee injury he sustained back in October, but speculation has been rife about the 28 year old’s future since he was left out of the club’s preseason tour of Ireland.

Rob Elliot, who is also recovering from a knee injury, was named in the touring party, and with the arrival of Matz Sels from Gent for £6.5million this summer, it has led many to believe that Krul’s time on Tyneside is up.

Krul has not featured under Rafa Benitez since he became manager due to injury and the signing of Sels means there are currently four first team goalkeepers all competing for the number one position. With Sels seemingly first choice in preseason, and Elliott and Rob Darlow also fighting for a place in the side, Krul could see his game time limited this season once he recovers from injury.
