Osasuna are looking to seal the signing of Newcastle striker Emmanuel Riviere, according to Diario de Navarra. The Spanish publication believes the Spanish club are currently locked in negotiations with the Magpies.
Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez is believed to want another striker in before transfer deadline day but with six forwards currently on the books, he will want to move one or two out before the end of August.
In addition to Riviere, young forward Adam Armstrong is expected to leave St James’ Park on loan if a new forward is brought in while Haris Vuckic is also being offered to clubs.
Osasuna were promoted back to La Liga last season but they only made it through the playoffs after finishing sixth in the Segunda division. They have already strengthened their squad with seven summer signings and they want to make Riviere their eighth addition as they prepare to face Malaga tonight in their first match of the league campaign.
