Newcastle midfielder Jack Colback believes transfer business is being conducted by manager Rafa Benitez in the right manner this summer.

In past seasons the spectre of Graham Carr and the scouting team taking decisions on signings above the manager has led to many questionable recruitment choices. Something that has now changed with Rafa in charge of transfers. Colback told the Evening Chronicle that things on the transfer front are moving in the right direction and that should hold them in good stead as they attempt to return to the Premier League at the first attempt:

“The club are also doing all of the right things and signing the right players. It looks like it’s getting done properly. If it carries on that way we have a very good chance of getting promoted back to the Premier League.”

It has been reported that the Magpies are looking for at least two more signings with a striker and perhaps another midfielder before the transfer window shuts at the end of next month. The Toon Army have been linked with Ross McCormack in recent days with a £13million bid believed to be in the works, while the sale of Moussa Sissoko may influence any more incoming transfers.
