Newcastle midfielder Cheick Tiote has returned to training ahead of the Magpies’ last preseason friendly match against Vitesse Arnhem tomorrow, according to the Shields Gazette.
It has been reported by Sky Sports and other news sources that Newcastle have rejected a bid from Abu Dhabi side Al Jazira club for the 30 year old, but it looks likely that Tiote will remain in contention to play for United until a suitable offer for the midfielder comes in.
It looks like this will be the same situation for Moussa Sissoko who is expected to return to training on Monday. Rafa Benitez would like the France international to remain at St James’ Park if no acceptable offer comes in for the player. Real Madrid are considering a bid for the 26 year old but no formal offer has materialised yet. An open training session will take place on Monday and it will be interesting to see if Sissoko takes part; facing fans after declaring his desire in the press to leave the club.
