Newcastle are interested in signing Fulham striker Ross McCormack, according to the Northern Echo. The local paper believes the Magpies have made a number of enquiries about the 29 year old in the last few weeks.

The Daily Mirror believes Rafa Benitez’s side and fellow relegated sides Aston Villa and Norwich City are lining up £13million bids for the Scottish international.

McCormack is believed to be unsettled at Craven Cottage after the London club finished only 20th in the Championship, despite the Scot scoring 21 league goals last campaign.

The forward has been at Fulham for two years since joining from Leeds United for £11million in the summer of 2014. Despite already having Dwight Gayle, Ayoze Perez and Aleksandar Mitrovic at his disposal, Magpies boss Benitez is keen to add another striker to the squad before the end of the transfer window to make up for the goals lost when Georginio Wijnaldum signed for Liverpool last week.
