Newcastle United have joined Norwich City, Aston Villa and QPR in the race to sign Alex Pritchard from Tottenham Hotspur but the London club value the midfielder at £9million, according to the Evening Chronicle.

The 23 year old had a very successful loan spell with Brentford in the 2014/15 season, making 47 appearances in the Championship (including the both legs of the playoff semi final), scoring 12 goals and providing seven assists.

He was loaned out again in January last season to Premier League side West Bromwich Albion after spending the first half of last campaign on the treatment table with an ankle injury. He only made two substitute appearances however, and Spurs manager has made it clear that the midfielder does not have a future at White Hart Lane.

Despite his lack of playing time last season, Tottenham still believe Pritchard’s valuation close to £10million is warranted, and we will have to wait and see if any club, including Newcastle, are willing to meet it.
