Everton have joined a host of clubs in the race to sign Moussa Sissoko from Newcastle, according to the Evening Chronicle. Some of Europe’s biggest clubs including Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with the 26 year old this summer but it seems that the Merseyside club, along with Juve, are the most likely bidders for the France international.

Magpies boss Rafa Benitez has told reporters that Sissoko is expected to return to training on August 1st but the Chronicle believes the midfielder is hopeful of securing a move away from St James’ Park before then.

Ronald Koeman’s Everton have recently been taken over by Iranian businessman Farhad Moshiri and could be prepared to pay the £35million demanded by the Magpies for the Frenchman. Juve meanwhile would also have plenty of money available if the sale of Paul Pogba to Manchester United goes through in the coming days.
