Former Newcastle United attacker Hatem Ben Arfa is in Liverpool’s sights according to RMC, with the Merseysiders set to make a move for the France international this summer.

The gifted winger showed both incredible skill and a lack of discipline during his time at St James’ Park, before being chased out of the club by former manager Alan Pardew.

Since then Ben Arfa has starred for modest Ligue 1 outfit Nice and propelled the south coast club to a surprise stint at potential qualification for the Champions League.

The mercurial forward has been at his best for the Allianz Riviera outfit this term, which has cast more doubts over just why Newcastle got rid of the former Marseille star.

Liverpool are expected to revamp their squad this summer following Jurgen Klopp’s arrival and could look to Ben Arfa to add to their attacking options.

The reception that the Frenchman would receive in Liverpool colours upon a return to Tyneside would be interesting, but it appears that Ben Arfa is set for a move to a bigger club this summer one way or the other.
