Rolando AaronsOne player than every Newcastle United player is looking forward to seeing more of next season is Rolando Aarons.

His explosive cameos were all too rare last term as the rising England star’s time on the pitch was hampered by injury.

Someone who shares that excitement is Ray Wilson from Back 2 Action, a leading sports performance consultancy that has drilled Aarons through his paces this season in an off-season spent productively on a training camp in Bristol.

Wilson says, “I believe he can go all the way. He’s got the right mentality. He’s not afraid of hard work. If you throw a hurdle at him he’s brave enough and strong enough he will attempt it. And if he can’t succeed today he’ll make all the small steps that he needs tomorrow.”

“He’s not had the best of end of seasons following his hamstring injuries and it would have been easy for him to say ‘That’s fine. I’ll pick it up next season.” Instead he went away with the England Under 20s to Toulon then came straight to our training camp knowing there is no time for holidays – it’s time to kick on. He’s passionate about being a top athlete. He wants to make a name for himself.”
