Alan Shearer to send Newcastle down again?

|

alan shearer barclaysNewcastle United are staring relegation from the Premier League in the face again for the second time in six years and once more Alan Shearer could be partly responsible, even if he doesn’t know it.

When Newcastle were last relegated in 2009, Shearer took charge of the Magpies for the final eight games of the season, in what turned out to be an ill-fated and sole attempt at management to date.

Culminating in a painful defeat to Aston Villa at Villa Park, Shearer was unable to motivate a bunch of talented players, whose effort was brought into question.

Much is the same this time around, as a group of highly-paid footballers have been unable to show a will to win on the pitch for the last two months.

While Shearer picked up five points out of 24 when he was at the helm in 2009, John Carver hasn’t managed to get a single point over the same period of games as Newcastle have lost the last eight matches on the trot.

In fact, Newcastle’s poor form started around the same time that Shearer’s appearance in a Barclays advert appeared on TV on 28th February (@_The12thMan).

That was the day of Newcastle’s last win against Aston Villa at St James’ Park, since then Newcastle have lost to Manchester United, Everton, Arsenal, Sunderland, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Swansea and Leicester.

So maybe the curse of Alan Shearer has struck again!

Wow that’s seriously lame. Pundit appears on TV, responsible for Newscastle’s run of form.
