adam armstrongWith Newcastle United not in action over the weekend, attention turned to international football and while the Magpies might not have many full internationals right now, Adam Armstrong is making his name in youth football. Newcastle face Sunderland in the Premier League on Sunday, so should Armstrong be the man to lead the line for John Carver’s side?

At 18 years of age, Adam is little more than a decent prospect at the moment, but with Papiss Cisse suspended, Emmanuel Rivière yet to score his first Premier League goal and Ayoze Perez having failed to find the back of the net in 2015, is it time for Armstrong to be given another start?

The local lad might not have netted for Newcastle’s senior team as of yet, but is banging in the goals at youth level for both club and country. Armstrong is so highly thought of by England’s U18 side that he was named as captain and bagged a brace in their 6-1 hammering of Switzerland on Saturday.

Neither goal is to be sniffed at either, with a great free-kick preceded by a fine piece of control and finish, as you can see below…

Few players will have the same level of confidence as Adam Armstrong right now, so could a local lad be the hero in the local derby?

It’s simply a game that Newcastle HAVE to win.

Your club needs you!

Listen I really do understand what’s being said here but again Sunderland the last thing we need is someone who is easy to knock off the ball we need strength so I think we need Riviere up front for this one because he has improved a bit in recent weeks and if nothing else he is very strong so if he plays it must be Perez who is sacrificed not Riviere.
