Tim Krul NetherlandsTottenham Hotspur are to lodge a £10 million bid this summer for Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul according to the Daily Mail.

PSG are set to come calling for Tottenham’s current incumbent in between the sticks Hugo Lloris, who is leading France at the World Cup in Brazil.

This would leave Spurs with a need for a new goalkeeper and long-term target Krul, who himself is in Brazil but currently finds himself on the bench for The Netherlands, is thought to be their number one choice.

Krul has been at Newcastle for a good few years now and although his is very settled, he fears that a lack of European football is hampering his international ambitions and the development of his career.

While £10m would seem like a small amount of money for someone of Krul’s calibre, Mike Ashley is known for cashing in on his stars to make a profit and there’s no reason it would be any different for the 26-year-old Dutchman.

If Krul was to leave, Rob Elliot would be promoted to become the new Newcastle number one, but it would be another major setback for the club and the fans.
