Dimitri PayetNewcastle United, Arsenal and West Ham are all taking a keen interest in French international Dimitri Payet according to the Mirror.

The 27-year-old winger joined Marseille just six months ago but the French club are looking to cut costs and are ready to move Payet on.

Payet cost Marseille £12 million in 2013 and could be available for half that price this summer, which has resulted in the aforementioned Premier League trio of clubs circling.

Sam Allardyce has reportedly already sent scouts to watch the winger in action and see whether he has the ability to ply his trade outside of French football.

Despite scoring eight goals last season, Payet failed to make the France World Cup squad and will be determined to prove a point to Didier Deschamps next year.

The 5ft 9in winger has the style of play that would excite the Tyneside faithful, being blessed with pace and a want to beat the fullback.

Newcastle have previously been linked with Payet’s Marseille teammate Andre Ayew, but it appears that he may now be out of the Magpies’ grasp and Payet may be a more realistic option…
