Tomi AmeobiNewcastle United striker Shola Ameobi looks set to be on the move in the summer as his contract expires at the end of the season, but his brother has already signed for a new club, as Tomi Ameobi has crossed the Atlantic to join FC Edmonton.

The middle brother of Shola and Sammy, Tomi was born in Newcastle and despite playing for the youth sides, never signed a professional contract with the Magpies.

Now aged 25, Tomi has had spells with Leeds United, Doncaster Rovers and even Whitley Bay, before moving onto Iceland, Finland and now Canada.

He’ll be competing in the North American Soccer League, so won’t come up against former Newcastle defender Andy O’Brien, who also plays in Canada for the Vancouver Whitecaps in the MLS.

All eyes will be on his older brother Shola Ameobi this summer as the Mackem Slayer could finally leave Newcastle for good, but could the 32-year-old join his brother in North America?

He’s got to win the World Cup with Nigeria first!
