Newcastle United’s Yohan Cabaye and Chelsea’s Juan Mata are both on PSG’s Christmas shopping list, along with former Manchester United starlet Paul Pogba, according to Sport 24.
PSG have had a very impressive start to the season but manager Laurent Blanc will not rest on his laurels and wants to further strengthen in January.
The French side currently find themselves top of Ligue 1 with a game in hand, while they have already comfortably made it through to the knockout stages of the Champions League, so there is no doubt that they are a team on the up.
Following the summer’s activity, there was always bound to be further rumours surrounding Yohan Cabaye’s potential exit from Newcastle, and it seems like PSG, rather than Arsenal, is the most likely destination.
Cabaye has been in good form for the Magpies again recently and Alan Pardew will be keen to keep hold of the jewel in his crown, but the pull of Champions League football could be too great for Yohan.
As for Juan Mata, he’s currently out of favour at Chelsea under Jose Mourinho and the Spaniard may well be keen to move on and press his claims for a starting spot for Spain at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
Finally, Paul Pogba has gone from strength to strength since joining Juventus, becoming a regular fixture in the French national side and proving to be one that got away for Man United.
Can Newcastle hold onto Yohan Cabaye for another six months at least?
