Image for PICTURE: Sunderland fan makes a fool of himself with Joey Barton

Joey Barton and Sunderland fanThere were a lot of bitter Sunderland fans on Twitter last night as Newcastle United supporters celebrated the career of legend Steve Harper, but this one pictured with Joey Barton really takes the biscuit.

Taking a leaf out of the book of a Portsmouth fan who held up a sign that took the mickey out of Accrington Stanley manager and former Southampton player James Beattie earlier this season was @LeonCallander94.

Leon, while working in the NUFC Executive area, gave it the 3-0 hand gesture, referring to the result in the Tyne-Wear derby at St James’ Park in the Premier League last season, as he was pictured with Barton.

Barton was none the wiser as he posed for the picture in his ‘interesting’ attire, but I think we know who the real winner is here, and it’s not Leon (good effort though).

Keep it coming Sunderland fans, there are less than seven weeks until we beat you again.

How is it in 19th place?

Sorry! He wasnt the Winner? Nor where the Skunks neither last night or 3-0. And chicken counting springs to mind. We may be 19th, 3 games in but hey! Isnt this the start of the season. Twonk!

  • noz says:

A site called nothingbutnewcastle, yet going on about sunderland fans. Irony.

    #notobsessed

  • toon01 says:

I still cant believe sunderland fans are still going on about the 3-0 win, first win at SJP in a very long time. Be honest is sunderland really bigger than the toon? Anyone who says yes couldnt fill a back of a stamp with football knowlage. Safc 2nd best get over it.

    • Joe says:

Yes we are. The same way as you lot still go on about the result 3 season ago. Also I don’t know if anyone has claimed sunderland is a bigger club, it just hurts you more when we beat you. At least the lad has a job, fair play to him.

      • dankm says:

Just like the 9-1 scoreline that happened in 1908 you lot go on about it as if you were there. And we beat you 6-1 twice in 1920 and 1955.

  • Jamie GORDON says:

Says it all…. A Mackem travelling from Sunderland to work in the Beautiful city of Newcastle wearing a Newcastle united badge on his chest….

    • Lee Ryder says:

How many mags work in Sunderland? Loads of them you dopy Herbert!

And as for mentioning 0-3 surely that has more relevance than the 5-1 the sheep keep bleating on about, correct me if I’m wrong but was 0-3 the latest derby result and therefore the most upto date score line, some mags are thick!

  • geordie mick says:

Mackems reading nufc material. They know a good read when they see it

  • archie brand says:

I must have missed sometthing here. How exactly is the Sunderland fan making a fool of himself?

  • Sharpy17 says:

Come on boys, sometimes we just have to see the funnier side of life. Fair play to the kid, he saw an opportunity and took it. He can have that one for me, coz the bigger picture is he’s a Mackem wearing the toon crest for a living – I couldn’t do that with the scum badge like.

  • lewb says:

why doesn’t the article writer pop over to Sunderland and buy himself a sense of humour, all the shops in Newcastle replaced their stock with delusions of grandeur.

  • John says:

how is this any more embarrassing than when our lot have pictures taken with players holding SMB signs? its just banter. chill out

  • cheesychipmagnet says:

    We should pity the mackems.
They the only joy they get is showing their obsession towards the number 1 team in the north east.
They need to keep themselves busy when they aren’t getting it on with their sister in their Pennywell slums or collecting their Giro.

    • Tim says:

Typical lame lazy comment from an aggressive Geordie cliched ape.

    • Sol says:

You mention penny well but fault to mention byker, scotswood, elswick etc. check the latest figures and u will find its Newcastle, not sunderland, featured in top ten percent of the country for young people living in poverty.

Now I’d rather the childish crack was left to the kids but as you lot never can leave it I suggest u at least do a bit research before u spout your tripe.

  • david crumbie says:

Brilliant picture. banter at its best! Joey’s a funny bloke (well he always makes my laugh) well done young man!!

  • Daniel Woodford says:

I could maybe understand it if barton played in the 0-3 game

  • Stephen Harrison says:

How is he not making a fool of himself, we’re employing the mackem tramp, without us he’d be in the back of that neverending dole queue back in 5under1and, hope he gets sacked lol obviously a failure in life if he works in a bar anyhow!!!

    • malcolm graham says:

Harrison your reply is bleak and you are obviously from a bully background. Spooky person.

    • Fkbgjdfk says:

A failure in life? He looks about 16. You’re just bitter. I’m a Geordie and I just chuckled when I saw that.

    • Narra says:

Will you please stop going on about the 5-1, it was yonks ago. The last result was 0-3, that’s right 0-3, or three nil if you prefer OR we scored on more than two occasions and you scored on none, or we netted one less than 4 and you lot netted one less than……er…..one.

Also there’s loads of mags working at the SOL. The young lad is just having a bit of banter.

  • Charlietton says:

Yeah if Barton played that would make sense but otherwise it’s really reaching

  • toon01 says:

3-0 5-1 i think we really do need to put it all behind us now, new season new test for both if us lets just see what happens this season

  • Ema says:

Being a SMB with a NUFC pinny on and photographed NO. no matter what the occasion. He is probably another ” i dont really support them ” cnut

  • stevetoon says:

Bless him its probably the first time hes seen the unwashed win at st James and will never see it again ginger mug
