Dan GoslingThe results are in from the fans’ vote for the Team of the Round for Round 2 of the Capital One Cup and a Newcastle United duo have made it in, but somewhat surprisingly neither of them have the surname Ameobi!

The Capital One Cup Round 2 will be known as the Ameobi show, as both Shola and Sammy found the back of the net, but it is two other players who might not be at Newcastle for much longer, who made the Team of the Round.

The first of those is Curtis Good, who made it to Wembley last year as he made the Capital One Cup final with Bradford City while on loan.

It looks like the central defender is headed for another temporary move in the near future as well as the Australian find first team football hard to come by on Tyneside.

He told the Chronicle: “I’m not sure at the moment what I’ll do, but I’d love another loan spell. I’d love to be playing professional football week-in, week-out. If I could, I’d be looking for a loan, but that’s up to the manager.”

The other Newcastle United player to make the Team of the Round is midfielder Dan Gosling, mainly thanks to his two goal-line clearances.

Gosling himself has been strongly linked with a loan move to Championship club Reading, so Newcastle might be without both of their vote-winning players for the Round 3 tie against Leeds United at St James’ Park later this month.

Here’s the Team of the Round in full…
