New NeymarNewcastle United are one of five Premier League clubs interested in Victor Andrade, who has been labelled as the ‘New Neymar’.

According to the Daily Express, Newcastle, Liverpool, Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea are all taking a keen interest in the 17-year-old Brazilian who currently plays for Santos.

Given that Neymar is only 21, I think it’s a bit early to have a new version of him already, but Andrade is getting some people very excited in Brazil since making his debut as a 16-year-old.

With Santos having lost Neymar to Barcelona this summer, Andrade will have a chance to step into his shoes and a lot more focus will be on the youngster.

Andrade has had plenty to say for himself and it turns out that he has quite a famous godfather – former Man City forward Robinho.

Andrade has said: “Quite simply, I would love to play in Europe. My godfather Robinho has told me of the great experiences he had at Real Madrid, Manchester City and AC Milan. He told me how it made him a better player because playing in Europe means you must adapt to different styles and systems.”

He continued: “I think it will be a great education for me. Everybody around the world knows about the strength of the Premier League. My dream is to play for Brazil in the World Cup and I believe that moving to Europe will help me because it will help my all-round game.”

It seems a bit early for the Brazilian to be leaving his homeland but he thinks it is “right for [him] to experience a change” and his agents NVA Entertainment Group have “confirmed that there is interest in England.”

Reportedly Andrade isn’t tied down to a long-term contract and due to his Portuguese parentage he already holds an EU passport, making a move to Europe much easier.

Newcastle scouts have been tasked with finding the best young football talent around the world and it appears that Andrade is certainly a prospect for the future…
